Just not her day.

Drabble is an extremely short work of fiction of exactly one hundred words in length, not necessarily including the title

From waking up late barely in time to rush through morning chores only to land at work huffing up ten floors of stairs thanks to lifts under repair, this after bumping into the traffic cops who were looking at reaching their monthly target of fines while having forgotten even the duplicate set of vehicle documents and insurance back home following a quibble with the maid about her disappearing act, it had been one of those days straight out of a nightmare.

The empty cubicles that reminded her of the team outing that day were enough to make her go berserk.

This post is shared with 3WW and the words for this week are Berserk, Duplicate & Quibble

  1. It was really not her day. Forgot not only the car documents but also the team outing! Nice story created in 100 words.

  5. A typical day when everything went wrong.
It reminded me of an incident with my MIL. She had been to my daughter's house to celebrate with her the Tamil New Year in Bombay this year. It was one of the days when she is supposed not to have any salty dish(fasting), she cooked everything and just had the kheer, and was ready to leave for the airport, for she was to catch a plane to Bangalore. Just when she got ready to leave they were t old that due to some breaking of the pipes, the water had flown into the lifts and they had to switch off the power etc. My God, she had to get down 13 floors, although it was just getting down the steps she had to move very carefully for the place was pretty dark with no lights too. It took her 40 minutes to come down, and there was the additional tension of not missing the plane, because of the traffic situation . Anyway, she came safely home, but like your story everything went wrong. And poor thing she was also fasting that day and she is 85.

  6. That's so sad Rama, only consolation she was safe at the end of the ordeal. At her age, it must have been even tougher and here we crib about small things...
