Fearful encounter - a 77 fiction

His badge announced to the world that he was a police officer.  Maintaining law and order was his liability. Hardened criminals were petrified by mere mention of him, such was his repute. Yet while climbing the stairs as the night darkened outside, his heart was throbbing in fear.

How would he face her tonight?
How could he have forgotten it was her birthday today?
He dreaded facing the lady in question.
His little angel, his daughter.

This post is shared with 3WW and the words for this week are Darken, Badge and Liability.

The grass was greener... - a 77-fiction

77 Fiction is a form of micro fiction that refers to the works of fiction limited to a maximum of seventy seven words excluding the title.

"The grass was greener
  The light was brighter
  With friends surrounded
  The nights of wonder..."

Although the crooners were a bunch of youngsters screaming their lungs out, it sounded far sweeter than the Pink Floyd version to Mani's ears. Ah those good old college days... That Skype conference call just could not wait any longer :)
